When it comes to goal setting… You are not told

When it comes to goal setting…

You are not told you can try something and test it out, de-commit, change your mind, do something different that works for you, and be okay with who and where you are.

Goals are based on the premise that… when you get, X, Y or Z… you will be or feel… something different to what you are…

You are not told there is a choice alternative to this life path and measures of success. Or that you can feel how you want to feel and be who you are now.

The idea of a New Year, a new you, goals and resolutions to change move you further away from your true self and the inner compass that is guiding you.

You need a bigger intention with way more flexibility…

We are each here on Earth at this time for a particular reason.

Never before has humanity needed the gifts you have to offer more than now.

We live in a society that tells you, you are not thin/ pretty/ rich/ smart/ outgoing/ creative/ fill in the blank… enough.

It's time to stop trying to be someone you are not, and are not here to be.

It’s time to start exploring and embracing the essence of who you are and becoming more of that.

For years I have set goals and for years I look back at this time of year and realise… I either moved in a different direction and didn’t achieve my goal, or I achieved it but it left me unfulfilled.

There are two big reasons for this…

- Goal setting comes from a place of not being enough and having to change or be different.
- Goal setting is done by an outdated version of you - who will be different a month or year from now and will try to force yourself to achieve a goal you may no longer align with.

Instead of committing to goals and then forcing ourselves to stick to them, we need to consider a system that is flexible and allows more intuition and flow.TIn the last 2-3 years I have totally changed the way I set and look at goals. Now, I often realise I am already living some of them.
